Founded in 1975 and located in Chicago's West Loop, Whitney M. Young Magnet High School has a tradition of academic excellence and wide-ranging diversity.

Whitney Young offers a very rigorous college preparatory curriculum with two rich academic programs: Magnet High School program grades 9–12, and Academic Center grades 7 & 8. The school is a microcosm of the entire city, as its enrollment is drawn from the city at large.
