Why Give to the Annual Fund?

Every year, Friends of Whitney Young (FoWY) raises money that goes directly to students to support their academics, performing and visual arts, clubs, and sports—programs not funded by CPS.

When these passionate students and teachers have a need, the Whitney Young community is there to help fill it.

Last year, this fund fulfilled 35 requests, including funding for Model UN, Performing Arts, Robotics and other Science Programs, Creative Writing, and Diverse Learners.

This year’s goal is to raise $80,000 for the Annual Fund.

We ask each family to consider a minimum gift of $500 to the FoWY Annual Fund, but any amount is helpful and appreciated.
