2026 Spring Bash - Sneaker Social
Whitney Young’s signature fundraising event, the Spring Bash, brings together parents, alumni, teachers, coaches, and supporters for an unforgettable night in support of our students. This adults-only celebration is the one time each year the entire Whitney Young community comes together under one roof to give back and have a great time doing it. We're excited to announce this year's theme is Sneaker Social!

What to Expect
The Spring Bash is not a sit-down dinner — it’s a high-energy cocktail party featuring:
-
Wine, beer, and cocktails
-
An abundance of delicious hors d’oeuvres (the food is always a highlight)
-
A lively atmosphere perfect for mingling, reconnecting, and celebrating
Dress Code
This is a cocktail party, but formalwear is not required. Come dressed in whatever makes you feel like your best self. Not sure what that means? We like to call it casual chic. Dress for a fun night out.
Entertainment & Performances
The evening often showcases some of the best of Whitney Young’s performance arts programs, followed by a DJ and open dance floor later in the night for those ready to keep the party going.
More Than a Party
Throughout the night, guests can enjoy:
-
Student performances
-
A dynamic silent auction with incredible items
-
A raffle drawing
-
A paddle raise to support student programs
-
Plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow supporters of Whitney Young
Who Attends?
The Spring Bash is truly a community event:
-
Teachers, coaches, administrators, and staff regularly attend
-
Alumni are always invited and often join the celebration
-
And yes — Principal Harris wouldn’t miss it!
What the Spring Bash Supports
All proceeds from the Spring Bash directly support student programming at Whitney Young.
-
Raffle ticket revenue can be designated to a specific club, team, or department
-
Silent auction proceeds go directly to the team or club that donated the item
-
Clubs, athletic teams, and extracurricular programs must raise the funds they need to operate
CPS does not provide adequate funding for many of these programs. Without the support generated through the Spring Bash, many opportunities for students simply would not exist.
Join Us
