Why Give to the Annual Fund?

Budget cutbacks at CPS have resulted in severe shortfalls in funding for Whitney Young. The FoWY Annual Fund helps to Bridge the Gap, providing necessary funds to support many programs at Whitney Young that are not funded by CPS. Your gift supports all aspects of our educational programs including arts, technology, athletics, science, after-school programs and more. FoWY Annual Fund allows the school to continue to provide necessary equipment and supplies to its classrooms, as well as important extra-curricular activities.

Without your support the Art Department, Eco Club, Girls Volleyball, Habitat for Humanity Club and the Computer Science Lab would not have received the funding they needed last year. Unfortunately, many requests for financial support were not met. Only 28% of funding requests made in the 2013-2014 school year were fulfilled. Help us Bridge the Gap by giving to the FoWY Annual Fund.
